What made you choose Apeejay Institute of Design? How are the teachers shaping your skills?

I chose Apeejay Institute of Design because I was inspired by professional sketching and wanted to turn my passion into a career. I began my journey in August 2025, starting with building a strong foundation. The faculty have been very supportive, continuously helping me improve and guiding me in areas where I need development.

What are the key skills in the age of AI one must nurture to succeed in the field of design? How do you focus on skill development?

The key skills to succeed in the age of AI are observation, critical thinking, taste, and judgment. While AI can generate many options, choosing what is right and meaningful can only be done by a skilled designer.

I focus on improving my observation, drawing, and attention to detail. In my second semester, I realised that design is not just about sketching or shapes, but about how ideas work and how they are communicated effectively. This understanding is helping me grow and develop my skills further.

Can you share a memorable classroom project or assignment that challenged your creativity or taught you something new?

Every step of learning has been a stepping stone for me. One of my biggest challenges was improving my sketching skills, especially understanding object placement, proportion, and size. This semester helped me gain confidence and a deeper understanding of design. At Apeejay, I’m learning to think like a designer, not just an artist

Back in the days, I worked on a 3D model where I created a  car out of newspaper. First I created the body then the parts and wheels. Then with poster colors i painted it.

Do you think research plays a crucial role when approaching a design project?

Yes, research plays a crucial role in a design project. It helps us explore ideas, identify problems. It also helps us to understand the real-world needs beyond just virtual concepts. It allows us to improve our skills and create more meaningful and effective designs.

What are your future aspirations ? Which specialisation of design you would like to pursue
My future aspiration is to become a graphic designer where I can show my creativity and create impactful visuals.I would like to pursue specialisation in graphic design.
