The National Testing Agency announced the results of JEE Main 2026 Session 2 on April 20, closing a highly competitive exam cycle. Nearly 11.23 lakh students took the April attempt, reflecting the scale and intensity of this year’s engineering entrance process. Those who have qualified now move to the next stage, with JEE Advanced set for May 17. Meet four students from Apeejay School, Saket, who made their school and parents proud: Ayush Dasgupta (99.75), Priyansh (99.58), Sarthak Prasad (99.15), and Ayushmaan Gupta (98.86).

In an impromptu interview, they share their Session 2 journey and what they did differently.

Ayush, who scored 99 previously, shared that he focused on maintaining consistency and clarity in my concepts. “I followed a structured timetable, revised regularly, and prioritised solving mock tests and previous years’ papers to strengthen my application skills. Whenever I faced difficulties, I analysed my mistakes, revisited core concepts, and sought help from my teachers or peers. Staying patient and adapting my approach helped me overcome my weak areas,” he said.

It is important to stay consistent, focus on conceptual understanding rather than rote learning, and practise regularly, he opined. “Mock tests and revision played a key role in my preparation. I maintained a balanced routine to avoid burnout. I was confident in my preparation, but I focused more on giving my best rather than stressing about the result,” he stated

Ayushmaan, scoring 98.64 previously, approached his preparation in a more structured and disciplined way this time round. “I focused more on revision, analysing my tests, and strengthening the topics that I had left weak earlier. This made my effort more targeted and effective. There were challenges, especially in managing pressure and maintaining consistency every single day. At times, the workload felt heavy, but I stayed focused on my larger goal and kept moving forward,” he shared.

He avoided forcing himself to continue in an unproductive way. Instead, he took smart breaks. “I would switch to a lighter topic, revise something familiar, or pause for a short while and return with a fresh mind. This helped me stay productive without losing momentum. Going forward, I want to continue building on this progress and keep improving at every step. My plan is to work harder on my weak areas, stay consistent, and give my best in the next stage,” he shared.
