Microsoft unveils MAI-1: The AI titan ready to challenge Google and OpenAI

Microsoft is gearing up to launch a formidable AI language model named MAI-1, aiming to compete with Google and OpenAI’s large-scale models. This development, led by Mustafa Suleyman, a co-founder of Google DeepMind and former CEO of Inflection, signals Microsoft’s ambition to advance in the AI race.

MAI-1 is expected to surpass Microsoft’s previous smaller AI models in both size and capability. The model’s exact purpose is yet to be finalised, contingent upon its performance. Microsoft may unveil MAI-1 at its Build developer conference, suggesting confidence in its progress.
