‘Kudos to Apeejay School, Noida for discovering my child’s hidden talent in sports and computers’

Ms. Indira Sharma is mother of Vanya Sharma, class 5, Apeejay School, Noida. In a
freewheeling interview, she thanked Apeejay School for contributing tremendously in the overall development of her child.

What made you pick Apeejay School, Noida?
Vanya is studying in Apeejay School, Noida since Nursery. Like all parents, we were hunting for the best school for our child. We received recommendations for Apeejay from our relatives and friends. They vouched for its competency and credibility and said it’s the best school in Noida.

Tell us how Apeejay School has contributed to your child’s growth?
From nursery till class 5, my daughter has grown by leaps and bounds. She was a bit shy in the beginning, but gradually she developed self-confidence. In nursery, Shama Ma’am taught her a lot of interesting things. In KG, Ms. Shushma Batla, helped Vanya become more confident. She started to freely express herself and began participating in various activities. In class 3, Ms. Manjulata Rawat was like her second mom. Apart from academics, there’s a strong focus on extracurricular activities. In fact, I didn’t know Vanya was good at racing until one day she won First prize in a race. She was in class 2 then. I was ecstatic that the school unearthed her hidden talent. I was also left stunned when she got First Prize in the Inter School Computer Paint Competition. I was not aware till then that she is also good with computers. Now, her typing speed is so fast that I sometimes seek her help to do my office work (laughs). Vanya’s drawing skills were good from the beginning, but teachers helped her to further hone the skills. Special emphasis is also given on English and Hindi role play. Her current class teacher, Ms. Neha Sharma, is a brilliant Maths teacher. Her science teacher, Ms. Meeta Bhargava, taught Vanya how to grow seeds. It’s not that my kid is getting a special treatment, the school treats everyone equally.  

What was your experience with parent-teacher meetings?
I had a fantastic experience. Teachers give detailed feedback on the progress of your child and provide a roadmap of how they intend to improve your child’s weaknesses. I left satisfied after the meeting.

What are the other things you like about the school?
Every responsible parent is concerned about their child’s safety. With Apeejay, you can be rest assured that your child is in safe hands. I have seen teachers not letting students venture out of the school gate and they will not hand over the child to an adult until and unless that person is registered with the school. Let me share an instance. One day our driver got late to pick Vanya after school. Due to some confusion, a different driver mistook Vanya for someone else and asked her to sit in the car. But, a teacher was present on the spot and cleared the confusion. This shows their dedication to safety.

Would you recommend Apeejay School, Noida to others?
I have already done it multiple times. Recently, my husband’s friend was looking for a good school for his son’s nursery admission. I advised him to go for Apeejay. He was already impressed with the remarkable progress made by Vanya over the years. No wonder, he made up his mind to get his son admitted to Apeejay in this academic session. 

I jokingly asked my daughter, `Do you want to change school?’ She started crying. She doesn’t want to leave Apeejay School, Noida. There’s a strong student-school relationship.
