JEE Main is the primary entrance examination for admission to various undergraduate engineering programmes in prestigious institutes and only a few get along with great percentiles. Therefore, it is very important to recognise students who have achieved high percentiles as it holds paramount importance for several reasons. One such achiever is Krrish Aggarwal, studying in Class XII of Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, who scored 99.3 percentile.

In a candid interview, Krrish gives us insights into his ways of studying and how was he able to crack session one with such ease.

Tell us about yourself.

Having been a part of this school since my nursery days, my inclination for Physics, Chemistry, and Math has remained unwavering. My commitment to pursuing a path in PCM has been steadfast, and JEE has consistently been my primary focus and aspiration.

Tell us about your preparation schedule.

I adhered to the guidance provided by both my school and teachers throughout my academic journey. I majorly avoid late-night study sessions. Instead, I adopted a flexible approach, creating a daily to-do list and ensuring its completion without strictly adhering to fixed hours of study.

Which subject is your forte?

I excel in Math; I love to solve mathematical equations.

Any particular IIT you are aspiring for?

IIT Bombay is widely regarded as the top IIT in India, acknowledged for its excellence in education and research, and I aspire to take admission there. Hopefully, my score in the JEE Advanced will be high enough to get through this institute.

Which branch of engineering fascinates you the most?

I have not specifically decided yet but I have a strong inclination towards Computer science.

How has the school supported you with this journey?

My school teachers played a crucial role in my JEE preparation journey by providing substantial assistance with my doubts. Recognising the demanding schedule of a JEE aspirant, they were flexible about attendance, understanding the challenges of balancing school and coaching commitments.

Are there any books you would recommend?

In preparation for the JEE Mains, NCERT proves more than adequate. No other publication surpasses the effectiveness of NCERT. Balancing other study material with  NCERT is the best approach.

Are you willing to appear for the second session of JEE as well?

Certainly, while I am content with my current score, I believe there is always room for improvement.

Advice for the next batch.

It is very important to trust yourself and have no inferiority complex when compared to the score of your peers. Your primary competition should be with yourself. Focus on continuous self-improvement from your previous exams and you will reach great heights.
