Recently, Apeejay School, Saket, organised Ikigai 2026, a two-day event designed to bring together creativity, reflection, and purposeful expression. With participation from 33 schools, the event created a shared space for students to engage with ideas beyond the classroom and understand how personal interests connect with a larger sense of meaning.
The presence of Mr Ashwani Lohani, Director, Prime Minister’s Museum and Library, and Ms Moeko Takagi, an Impact and Advisory Professional, added depth to the occasion. Their work across public service and global initiatives offered students a glimpse into how passion can translate into long-term contribution.
The dignitaries were welcomed by the school Principal, Dr Eric Sujeet Masih, through a green welcome, a gesture that reflects respect for nature and a commitment to sustainable values. This small but deliberate act set the tone for an event that aimed to connect personal growth with social responsibility. The guests were later felicitated as a mark of appreciation.
The cultural programme that followed brought together performances that reflected both individual talent and collective effort. Students used music, movement, and storytelling to express ideas that felt both personal and relevant.

The event became a space to explore identity and purpose in a structured yet open environment. It encouraged them to look at creativity not just as an activity but as a way of understanding themselves and the world around them.
As the event concluded, it left behind a quiet but important takeaway. When students are given the space to think, express, and connect, they begin to see purpose not as something distant, but as something they can start shaping early in life.
