At present, she is pursuing English (H) from Ramanujan College, Delhi University. Alongside that, she creates beauty and lifestyle content on YouTube and Instagram. She has collaborated with well-known brands and serves as the social media head of the Filmmaking and Photography Society in her college. Meet Sanvi Verma, alumna, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park (batch 2024-25).
In a candid interview, she talks about how the teachers helped her decide what career path to follow, among other things.
How was your transition from school to college?
In school, we were in a protected environment. I had been at the school since nursery, so I knew everyone for almost 14 years. The teachers were supportive and familiar. College, on the other hand, was a completely new space with a very different experience. It was initially unexpected. I was quite shy in school, but over time I explored more, got new opportunities, and gradually opened up in college.
Do you have a vivid or fond memory from your school days?
One of my fondest memories is from Classes XI and XII when I studied painting. The teacher who taught me was amazing, and it became my favourite subject. Painting gave me a lot of peace, and I really enjoyed interacting with her. She was very supportive.
Why did you choose English (H), and what are your future plans?
I plan to build a career in social media marketing. I believe strong communication skills are essential in this field, and studying English helps me develop that. It allows me to connect better with people and create more engaging content.

You are actively involved in your college’s Photography Society. How did that happen?
When I joined college, everything was new, and I wanted to be part of a society to meet people and build connections. The Photography Society turned out to be very engaging. I explored multiple areas there, including acting, editing, and scriptwriting. It gave me a chance to try things I had not done before.
What are some new skills or learnings you have gained in college?
Joining the society helped me discover skills like acting, which I had not expected. At the same time, being involved in social media activities made me realise my interest in social media marketing. Becoming the head of the society further strengthened that interest, and I genuinely enjoy working in this space now.
Values that continue to guide you today.
Even now, the guidance from my school teachers plays an important role. When I was deciding on colleges and courses, I reached out to my teachers for advice. My Class XII teacher, in particular, encouraged me to pursue English (H). Their support has stayed with me beyond school.
What advice would you give to present Apeejayites?
I would say they should make the most of their school years by trying new things and exploring different opportunities. The school provides a very supportive environment, so students should focus on both academics and extracurricular activities. It is a great time to understand yourself better and discover your interests.
