CTET 2026 exam dates announced

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the schedule for the 22nd edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2026. The examination will now take place on December 12 and 13, 2026. This is a revision from its originally planned September date.

According to the public notice, CBSE had initially scheduled the exam for September 6 before postponing it and reopening the application window for the session. Candidates who had already applied for the September 2026 cycle do not need to reapply. They can simply check the revised schedule against their existing application. The full notice, along with detailed instructions is available on the official CBSE examination portal.

Ahead of the exam itself, CBSE will release a city intimation slip informing candidates which city their examination centre will be located in. As per the board’s notice, this slip is expected at least 15 days before the test date. This will give candidates roughly two weeks to arrange travel or accommodation if their assigned city differs from their hometown. 

The CTET admit card will be released two days prior to the examination and can be downloaded through the candidate login section on the official website.
