Looking for a school when children are in higher classes can be a daunting task. When this parent was looking at schools for her elder son, Pratyaparasher, they chose Apeejay School, Greater Noida, since the teacher-student ratio was good. “I realised that this would be beneficial for my son since we were taking admission in Class VIII,” Rashmi, whose daughter, Anahita, is also at this school and now in Class V.

In a candid interview, the mother shares the changes in her children since joining this school.

How has your child’s learning journey been so far?

It has been good so far. I feel the school has supported my children all through. Like all children, they are still growing and learning. Over time, I have seen them become more comfortable, confident, and open in the school environment.

What changes have you seen in your children since they joined the school?

In terms of discipline, I feel children behave differently at home and in school. At home, children do not always remain disciplined, but in school, they learn to stay disciplined. I have also seen confidence in them. My son has gained good confidence. My daughter has also developed in many ways. Since this school is an English-medium school and children are encouraged to speak in English, I have seen that she now speaks and talks in English. These things have developed gradually over the last two years.

How are the school and teachers promoting the academic growth and curiosity of both children?

The children are growing well, and the school has supported their learning journey. Over time, I have seen different teachers guide them, and each one has contributed in their own way. Some teachers are new, while some have been there for a longer time.

Is there any particular activity that your daughter and son like and participate in?

My daughter is interested in dance. She always takes part in dance activities and enjoys them a lot. My son took part in instrumental music during Sports Day. He played the tabla and was interested in learning it. He continued it regularly till Class X.

How is the parent-teacher communication?

The parent-teacher communication is very good. I attended the PTM, and the experience was helpful. The teachers listen patiently and share clear feedback about the child’s progress. As a parent, that gives me a sense of comfort and trust.
