Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has reviewed preparations for the NEET UG re-exam scheduled for June 21, 2026, placing strong emphasis on security, coordination and candidate support in the final phase before the test. The high-level meeting assessed the arrangements that the National Testing Agency (NTA) and concerned authorities are making for the smooth conduct of the exam.

The review focused on exam centre readiness, secure movement of confidential material, surveillance measures, logistical planning and communication with states and Union Territories.

According to reports, the Minister asked officials to ensure that the re-exam is conducted with complete transparency and strict adherence to protocol. He also underlined the need to address gaps identified in the earlier process so that students can appear for the test in a fair and orderly environment.

State nodal officers have been asked to coordinate closely with district administrations, police officials and exam centre heads. The directions include ensuring basic facilities for candidates, including timely entry, proper seating arrangements, drinking water and other essential support at centres.

The NTA is also expected to maintain central-level monitoring of the exam process. Officials have been directed to keep grievance redressal systems active and ensure a quick response to any issue reported before or during the exam.

The review comes amid heightened concern over the credibility of competitive exams and the need to restore confidence among aspirants. For lakhs of medical aspirants, the re-exam is not merely an administrative exercise but a decisive academic opportunity. Authorities are therefore focusing on both security and student welfare.

The Ministry has indicated that all stakeholders must work in close coordination to prevent lapses and maintain public trust. With only days left for the exam, the emphasis remains on a safe, transparent and disruption-free process for candidates across the country.
