Academic growth is shaped as much by daily habits as by exam preparation. When students study regularly, seek help when they are unsure, and approach assessments with a calm mind, they build confidence over time. These small but steady choices often lead to visible improvement in their performance. Meet four such students of Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, Manya Aggarwal, Alanna Vineesh, Kanav Sejal, and Angshuman Dhali (academic year 2025-26), who reflect on what contributed to their success.
For Manya, the biggest difference came from her resolve to complete her assignments and projects with dedication and punctuality every day, along with her regular studies.“
“I made it a habit to stay consistent and not leave my work for later, which helped me remain confident and prepared. At the beginning of the year, I found Science a little difficult, but gradually, with regular effort, I started understanding it better and even found it interesting. Before exams, I usually prefer reading the chapters thoroughly because it helps me answer questions that are asked from different parts of the lesson,” this student, who is now in Class VII, said.
She also believes that studying with full concentration matters more than studying for many hours. When the mind is focused, even a shorter study time can be useful. “My teachers supported me a lot by clearing my doubts, explaining my mistakes, and helping me improve step by step,” she added.
Alanna’s performance improved this year because she attended my classes regularly. Her punctuality and discipline helped her clear my doubts on time, and her reading habits also supported my learning.
“I followed a simple routine where I studied the difficult subjects first and made a list of chapters that needed more attention. I completed my work daily and revised the chapters before going to school, which helped me feel less pressure during exams. My teachers guided me by explaining concepts through real-life examples and encouraging me to ask questions whenever I felt confused. They also helped me build confidence by appreciating my efforts and teaching me not to fear mistakes,” the now Class VII student stated.
Kanav prepared for the exams by reading chapters thoroughly and understanding the stories and concepts behind them. He highlighted important points and revised his notes every day.
“I also solved worksheets regularly and took short breaks in between to play cricket and relax my mind. At first, I found Mathematics difficult, but with regular practice and support from my teachers, I slowly improved and became more confident. My teachers explained topics clearly and answered my doubts with patience,” he shared.
The now Class VII student opines that his consistency and hard work made the biggest difference in his performance this year. “I studied regularly, paid attention in class, completed my homework on time, and finished my assignments properly. All these habits helped me improve,” he said in conclusion.
