The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to release the provisional answer key for the UGC NET June 2026 exam soon on the official website, ugcnet.nta.nic.in. Once released, candidates who appeared for the examination will be able to check the answer key, question paper and their recorded responses by logging in with their application number, date of birth or password, and security code.
The provisional answer key will help candidates compare their responses with the answers released by NTA and calculate their probable scores before the declaration of results. As per the marking scheme, candidates will get two marks for every correct answer, while there is no negative marking for incorrect responses.
The UGC NET June 2026 exam was conducted in Computer-based Test mode for 87 subjects. The test is held to determine the eligibility of candidates for Junior Research Fellowship, Assistant Professor posts and admission to PhD programmes in universities and higher education institutions across the country. Around 9.08 lakh candidates had reportedly registered for the June session.
After the answer key is released, NTA will also open an objection window for candidates who are not satisfied with any answer. Candidates will have to submit their challenges online within the given deadline. A non-refundable fee of Rs 200 per question is expected to be charged for raising objections. They will also have to upload supporting documents while submitting their claims.
To download the answer key, candidates should visit ugcnet.nta.nic.in, click on the UGC NET Answer Key 2026 link, enter the required login details and submit them. The answer key will then appear on the screen. Candidates are advised to download and save a copy for future reference.
