Why failure is important for success

“Have you ever felt that one failure defines your entire ability?” This is the fear of the students of today. In today’s world of celebration of success and shaming of failures, we have forgotten one basic truth: “Failure is not the end, but the beginning of success.”Today’s world thinks of failures as something to be embarrassed about. Everyone fears failure. Everyone avoids failure. Everyone shames failures. But the truth is exactly the opposite. Failure is not something to be ashamed of. It is the key to success. As the great A. P. J. Abdul Kalam said, “FAIL means First Attempt In Learning.” This quote reminds us of the fact that every time we fail, we are actually learning something new. Every time we fail, we are actually trying to grow.

We know history is filled with the failures of successful individuals. Take the example of Thomas Edison, the maker of the electric bulb. He failed 10,000 times before he succeeded. When asked about his failures, he said, “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”

We learn a great deal from our failures. We learn things we do not learn from our success. If we fail at something, we learn to analyze our failures and become stronger. Take the example of a student. If a student fails in his or her exams, he or she becomes stronger and determined to succeed in the next exam.

We learn a great deal from our failures. We learn things we do not learn from our success. If we fail at something, we learn to analyze our failures and become stronger. Take the example of a student. If a student fails in his or her exams, he or she becomes stronger and determined to succeed in the next exam. It instills resilience and patience. For example, a student who failed in an examination has the chance to study more and succeed in the future. It also promotes creativity and innovation. Without the option of failing, we would not be creative. Many of the achievements we have today would not have been possible without the option of failing.

Furthermore, failure instills courage in people. It teaches people to get up after falling. As Winston Churchill once said, “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” This means that it is not failure that defines a person but his or her courage to continue.

In conclusion, we have seen that failure is not the opposite of success. It is a part of success. We should not fear failure. Instead, we should embrace it. Every time we fail, we are getting closer to our success.
