Shuttlers bring home a rich medal haul
Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, badminton players turn dedication into district-level success
Young players from Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar, delivered a commendable performance at the Jalandhar District Badminton Championship. Held at Hansraj Stadium from August 23 to 26, 2026, the competition saw the students win medals across several age groups and categories.
Their achievements reflected their growing sporting ability as well as the discipline required to compete at the district level. From doubles events to singles and mixed doubles, the young shuttlers displayed determination, focus and sportsmanship throughout the championship.
Strong performances across categories
Myra Chopra secured the gold medal in the Girls Under-15 Doubles category. She also won bronze in Mixed Doubles, adding another medal to her campaign.
Aaina Chopra earned silver in the Girls Under-13 Doubles event and bronze in Singles. Her success across both formats highlighted her ability to perform individually and alongside a partner.
Ujjwal Bharti won Silver in the Boys Under-13 Doubles category. Tanmay Puri also performed well in the same age group, securing a bronze medal in Boys Under-13 Doubles.
The older age categories brought further success for the school.
Ishan Sharma claimed gold in Boys Under-15 Doubles and added two bronze medals to his tally. Purmeet Singh Parmar won gold in Boys Under-17 Doubles and bronze in the Under-19 Singles category.
Dedication reflected in results
Competing across different formats requires players to adjust their approach while remaining composed on the court. Singles test individual decision-making and endurance, while doubles demand coordination, communication and an understanding between partners. The medals won in both formats reflect the students’ consistent preparation and passion for badminton.
The results brought pride to the entire Apeejay School and marked an important step in the sporting journeys of these young players. Their performance at the district championship will encourage them to continue practising, aim higher and approach future competitions with greater confidence.
