The National Testing Agency (NTA) held the UGC-NET June 2026 examination from June 22 to 30 across 87 subjects. The exam is conducted to award Junior Research Fellowships, assessing Assistant Professor eligibility, and initiating PhD programme admissions. Though the exam is held for 87 subjects, the results are out of 84 subjects due to re-exam for three subjects: English, sociology, commerce.
NTA cancelled these exams after an appointed expert committee flagged factual, typographical, translation and language-related errors in the question papers.
