Robin Dagar says her daughter Diyaana, a nursery student of Apeejay School Charkhi Dadri, is not only learning how to read but has also shown overall improvement by participating in DIY activities, extra-curricular events, and so on. In an interview, Dagar, homemaker and mother, shares why she considers the school to be the best in its region. Edited excerpts:

How did you come to know about Apeejay School Charkhi Dadri? What encouraged you to enroll your child?

In the area where I stay, Apeejay Charkhi Dadri is one of the best schools. I had heard positive reviews and I am experiencing it as well now. Diyaana’s father and his sister also did their schooling there, so we were confident about enrolling our child.

Did you face any challenges in the admission process amid the pandemic?

The Apeejay management was very cooperative. The principal is humble and very friendly, and we had a very good interaction with him during the admission. I really appreciate the way he manages everything in the school. On our first visit to the campus, we were impressed with the facilities provided.

What do you think of the classes?

Since September last year, they briefly had classes at the school campus. They again moved to online classes in January. Diyaana’s teachers are very nice. The unique teaching methods adopted by the school are very effective. Instead of teaching alphabets the conventional way, children are taught phonics which is very helpful since it promotes reading abilities.

The online classes are very interactive. Students are not just dependent on books, but they also get the opportunity to engage in interesting activities like making videos, crafts, etc, while learning. Some of the activities also involve the parents. For instance, the mothers have been asked to prepare a dance performance for an upcoming school event. I have never seen any school take such initiatives to make everyone feel so involved. I am very happy with Apeejay.

Do you think participating in extra-curricular activities boosts children’s overall growth?

Diyaana has participated in Hindi and English poem recitation online, among several other such activities. In fact, teachers have made participation compulsory by students. This is a good initiative to ensure every child gets the opportunity to showcase his or her talent and build their confidence. Parents are also motivated by teachers to allow their children to participate in such activities.

Would you recommend the school to other parents?

I would definitely recommend the school to other parents. In fact, whenever parents ask me for a good school, I always suggest Apeejay Charkhi Dadri. I feel this is the best school in the area.
