Heritage walks are one of the best ways to learn and understand the art, architecture, culture, tradition, philosophy, and myths associated with the historical heritage places of a country. These walks let learners look back while showcasing to them the rich culture and history of their country.

With an aim to explore the richness of India, Apeejay School of Architecture and Planning (AIT-SAP), Greater Noida, recently took its students for a Heritage Walk or “Pagdandi” from Safdarjung Tomb to Humayun’s Tomb. First to third year architecture students walked through Lodhi Road to familiarise themselves with different eras and styles of architecture focusing on Islamic Architecture.

During the visit, students studied the historical sites and understood the various styles of Islamic Architecture through several periods of history. They appreciated the features and elements of different architectural styles involved in these historical monuments.

The informational visit was organised by Ar. Nida Hasan, Professor at AIT-SAP to understand the construction of the old heritage buildings.

Overall, the visit was exciting, educational and entertaining. The heritage sites are beautiful places to explore the unexplored richness of the country.
