Promoting the spirit of entrepreneurship among students, a 6-week workshop on ‘Entrepreneurship Promotion and Skill Development’ is organised by the Department of Design at Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA) Jalandhar, in association with Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India.
This workshop will provide students with a great opportunity to further develop new-age skills, knowledge while making them industry-ready to grab opportunities in the global job market.
For this 6-week workshop, Shri Virendra Sharma, Director of MSME and Shri Kundan Lal, Assistant Director, will be providing necessary training to the students.
Welcoming the guests, Dr Neerja Dhingra, Principal of ACFA, said, “It is our pleasure that our students will be learning from the experts about startups, owing to their experience and knowledge in the field of business and industry.”
She further added, “Through this workshop students will be able to become self-reliant and learn the nuances of industry and business with practical knowledge.”
Addressing the students, Shri Virendra Sharma, Director, MSME, said, “Our endeavor is to provide aspirants with every basic information of startups. The workshop will provide students with information on the benefits one can take from the government’s economic schemes for startups, usage of Intellectual Property Rights, and understanding market demand to provide things to the consumers in the shortest possible time at the lowest rates.”
Also, he assured the students that they would try to fulfil the expectations with utmost sincerity.
Seeing the enthusiasm of students, Mr. Kundan Lal, Assistant Director said they will try their best to pacify all their curiosities. He also told that the guest lectures will be conducted by the subject experts on various business topics.
Dr. Neerja Dhingra appreciated the efforts of Ms. Rajni Gupta, Head of the Department, Ms. Rajni Kumar and the other faculty members from the Department of Design and encouraged them to keep continuing with such good work which benefits the students in practical terms.
She also encouraged students to take maximum benefit of this workshop and pointed out that this will help to nurture their talent, to enlighten them on various aspects of business activity required for setting up industrial/business venture.
A total of 25 final year students from Fashion & Textile as well as Interior Design will be attending this workshop, who are keen to have their own venture/firm right after finishing their degrees.
Danish Jain, student of Bachelor of Design – Interior said, “This workshop will be a pack of knowledge that will provide us with innovative knowledge, and help in promotion of research and development.”
Another student, Akshita Jain of B. Design ( Fashion& Textiles) said “This great initiative by the authorities would help us to get the prerequisites of starting their own venture.”
