Youth Parliament 2.0 fosters leadership, democracy, and responsible citizenship

Recently, Apeejay School, Model Town, organised Youth Parliament 2.0 under the able guidance of Principal Dr Rajesh Kumar Chandel. It provided students with a dynamic platform to voice their opinions, engage in meaningful discussions, and understand the significance of democratic values and responsible citizenship. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students in Classes VIII to XII, who showcased remarkable confidence, awareness, and leadership throughout the proceedings. 

The programme recreated the spirit of a parliamentary session, where students debated and deliberated on various contemporary issues affecting society and the nation. Participants displayed exceptional critical thinking, analytical skills, and eloquence while presenting their viewpoints with clarity and conviction. The event not only encouraged students to think independently but also taught them the importance of respectful dialogue, teamwork, and informed decision-making.

The atmosphere throughout the session reflected discipline, intellectual curiosity, and a deep sense of responsibility among the participants. Through constructive debates and collaborative discussions, students gained valuable exposure to how democratic institutions function and to the role of active citizenship in shaping a progressive society.

Recognising the outstanding performances of the participants, merit-based certificates were awarded in different categories. Ruhaan Dang received the award for Best Delegate for his exemplary presentation and leadership skills. High Commendation awards were presented to Naitik Saraswat and Myra Seth, while Vihaan Juneja and Aastha Kapoor earned the Special Mention title for their commendable participation. Agam Singh, Ritvik Sharma, and Sanchit Gupta were honoured with the Honourable Mention award, and Ehan Sharma received recognition in the Intellect category for his thoughtful insights and analytical approach.

Events like Youth Parliament play a vital role in nurturing future leaders by empowering students to become confident communicators, responsible citizens, and socially aware individuals. Such initiatives help bridge classroom learning with real-world experiences, preparing young minds to contribute meaningfully to society and the nation.

The event concluded on a highly inspiring note, leaving students motivated to continue engaging with social and national issues with awareness, empathy, and leadership.
