Ajit Pal Singh and Rajinder Kaur are computer teachers with government schools in Jalandhar. Their two children, Gurvir Singh Mann and Gurshaan Singh Mann, are studying in Apeejay School, Tanda Road, Jalandhar, since Nursery. Gurvir is in class 6 while Gurshaan is in class 3. In an interview, Ajit Pal Singh explains how the school is contributing to the overall growth of his children.

Why did you choose Apeejay?
Apeejay is a reputed brand in Jalandhar. It elicits goodwill, confidence and trust among parents. I was also impressed with the school board results. Moreover, a close relative also recommended the school. To top it all, the school is conveniently located near my house.

Are you happy with your decision to go with Apeejay?
Of course, unlike other schools, students of Apeejay don’t get burdened under the weight of academics. The school focuses on the overall growth of the child. The academics and extracurricular activities are given equal weightage. As you know, extracurricular activities aid in the development of self-esteem and confidence. We don’t want our children to be bookworms. Thankfully, both my children perform with confidence and poise on stage. Gurvir and Gurshaan are so much in love with the school that they are eagerly waiting for the school to reopen. They have been consistently recording nearly 100 per cent attendance since joining the school. Finally, I would like to commend the staff for always being polite with parents and students.

What about the teachers?
We never had an issue with teachers. Even during the pandemic they are doing an incredible job.  There’s no compromise on quality. Teachers are giving their 100 per cent and are always available to clear doubts of parents.

Share with us a few memorable moments involving your children in school.
Every Annual day is memorable for us as our children bag the maximum number of prizes. It feels good when teachers shower praise on your children. Last year, Gurvir was among the top 500 students nationally who participated in the ISRO Model-Making Competition and got a merit certificate. It was not an easy competition as Gurvir was given the topic on the competition day itself and he had to make a model and submit it within a stipulated time-frame. To our surprise, the school organised a special online session to compliment Gurvir. It was indeed a proud moment for us.

“Apeejay gives personal attention to every student and the teachers are top-notch. A couple of my friends also got their children admitted to Apeejay based on my recommendation.”
