Mr. Amit Khamkar is the technical leader at GE Power Company. His children Augustya and Shardul are Apeejay Noida class 10 and 3 students respectively. In an informal interview, Mr. Khamkar highlights the factors which set Apeejay Noida a class apart from the other schools. Edited excerpts:

Why did you choose Apeejay Noida ahead of other schools for the admission of your children?

While looking for a school in Noida, the first thing we saw was the Apeejay Noida campus. It was really nice with a huge playground. We approached the school for Augustya’s admission. We also got great feedback from people that Apeejay Noida is one of the oldest schools in Noida with a remarkable teaching methodology. Also the alumni of the school are all doing so well. So, we went ahead with Apeejay Noida for the admission of both our children.

Please tell us about Augustya and Shardul and take us through their progress at school?

Augustya loves Mathematics the most. He is really good at sports. He loves to play football, he plays as a forward and has participated in many inter-school tournaments. He has also participated in many singing competitions.

Shardul’s progress in sports has slightly halted due to the online classes since the past two years but he has received prizes in story-telling competitions. He enjoys all subjects. Both my children are doing very well at school.

Are the teachers engaging well with the students?

Yes. I can see quite a lot of improvement in Augustya. He also got a scholarship from the school last year. I would like to thank Rekha Ma’am and Renu  Ma’am  who helped Augustya to improve in studies and curricular activities.  Their constant care really helped to develop my son.

What is the best thing about the school?

At Apeejay Noida, the teaching methodology from Nursery to class fifth is such that there is no pressure on the student. In the case of my friends whose children study in other schools, I see that they have to help their children in their school work. At Apeejay Noida the teachers try to make the students independent. The students are made capable to do all studies and activities on their own without any pressure.

How has the experience of the online classes been for both the children?

It has been fairly good. For Augustya it was very fruitful since he was more mature. But of course students learn more in the physical classroom which consists of live discussions with classmates and teachers. For Shardul, the online mode of education was a totally new experience. He enjoyed it a lot and was excited to learn the technological aspect of the online classes.

Now that the schools have reopened, are both the boys happy to be back at school?

Yes. They are very happy to be back for offline classes.
