Pooja Bawa (42), a homemaker, talks about how her three children have established a strong bond with Apeejay School and want to pursue their higher studies from Apeejay itself.

Tell us something about your family?

We live in Jalandhar. I live with my mother-in-law, husband Navnish Bawa who is a manufacturer of home appliances and we have three children: Pipiksha Sharma (21), Diva Sharma (14) and Himanish Sharma (12).

Pipiksha is pursuing her BBA from the Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar after she did her schooling from Apeejay School, Maharvir Nagar. My younger daughter Diva is studying in class 9 at Apeejay School, Mahavir Nagar and Himanish is in class7 at the Tanda Road branch of Apeejay School.

What made you opt for Apeejay School for all your children?

Apeejay is one of the best institutes in Jalandhar. I believe that all parents must trust Apeejay and send their children here for a brighter future. All the teachers here are well-experienced. The infrastructure along with holistic development is something that attracted us apart from the reputation of the school.

Any personality traits your children have developed from school?

I owe every single thing that my kids have learnt to the school. Pipiksha has become confident. She has developed leadership quality as well. Diva is good in studies as well as extracurricular activities. She recently won the Dr. Stya Paul Award and is very particular about her assignments. She has learnt time management. She participates in all kinds of activities such as dancing, salad making, and flower arrangement.

Himanish is a mischievous child but teachers call him sincere. He developed his interest in cricket and won the trophy for upcoming player, twice.

How is the teacher-student bonding?

All my kids are attached to their teachers. I have never seen such a pure bond between teacher and student. They share a very friendly bond. At the same time, they respect and obey them too.

Not only with my children, the teachers here are really friendly with me as well.  They are well-experienced, cooperative and supportive at any given point of time.

What are you views on value-based education?

Apart from home, school is the only place that shapes up a child. They learn values from the teachers. I feel so proud that all my kids have values imbibed in them. They know how to behave with elders, how to respect everyone and be helpful. In the times of a pandemic, they understood the pressure on the parents, so they cooperated a lot. This happened only because of the regular counselling and tips given by the teachers to cope up with the pandemic and be blissful.

What is one unique thing that you appreciate about the school the most?

I love the fact that despite the number of students in a class, individual attention is given to each student. The teachers know a child thoroughly and they give you in-depth feedback.

Will you recommend the school in your peer group?

I have always done that. In fact, I have asked my relatives to educate their kids at Apeejay.

“After getting my kids enrolled at Apeejay, I feel like I am retired. I know they are in safe hands and will shine bright.”
