Recently, Apeejay School, Nerul ,successfully hosted the sixth edition of its flagship event, Apeejay Model United Nations (AMUN) 2026, bringing together more than 300 delegates from 18 schools across Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. Guided by the theme Debate, Decide, Deliver, the two-day conference provided a dynamic platform for students to engage in diplomacy, critical thinking and collaborative problem-solving.
The conference commenced with an inspiring inaugural ceremony attended by Mr Dattatrya Sangolkar, Deputy RTO, Navi Mumbai, as the Chief Guest. Addressing the delegates, he highlighted the importance of respect, responsibility and ethical leadership in shaping responsible global citizens. Special Invitee Ms Vaishnavi Mathur, an alumna of Apeejay School, Nerul and a corporate lawyer, reflected on how her own AMUN experience had contributed to her personal and professional growth, encouraging participants to embrace every challenge with confidence.

Welcoming the delegates, the school Principal of the school, Mr P Subhash urged students to participate wholeheartedly, reminding them that the true value of Model United Nations lies in learning, collaboration and meaningful dialogue rather than awards alone.
The conference featured ten committees, each deliberating on pressing global issues. Delegates debated topics including accountability of private military companies in conflict zones, the global oil trade, cyber warfare, gender-based violence, human rights violations, widening inequality, the global debt crisis, equitable commercialisation of outer space, and the environmental impact of fast fashion. Through spirited debates, negotiations and resolution drafting, participants explored solutions aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The closing ceremony was graced by Col Manoj Shetty (Retd), former Army officer and United Nations Peacekeeping veteran, along with Mr Anish Banerjee, Apeejay alumnus and corporate lawyer. Both speakers inspired students to pursue leadership with perseverance, integrity and purpose.

The event concluded with the felicitation of outstanding delegates and committees. In his closing remarks, the Principal described the participants as the “future architects of peace” and reaffirmed the school’s commitment to nurturing compassionate, confident and globally aware leaders.
AMUN 2026 once again showcased Apeejay School, Nerul’s commitment to fostering informed, responsible and future-ready global citizens through meaningful dialogue and experiential learning.
