Recently, Apeejay School, Sector 15, Faridabad, organised an engaging eco-waste workshop. The objective was to foster environmental awareness and encourage sustainable waste-management practices among students. The workshop served as an important step towards sensitising young minds to the pressing environmental challenges facing society and empowering them to adopt eco-friendly habits in their daily lives.

The session focused on the importance of responsible waste disposal, waste segregation, recycling, and reducing the excessive use of non-biodegradable materials. Through interactive discussions and hands-on activities, students gained valuable insights into the impact of waste on the environment and learned practical ways to minimise their ecological footprint.

Resource persons highlighted the significance of the 3Rs: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle and explained how small individual actions can collectively contribute to environmental conservation. Students actively participated in the workshop, sharing ideas and exploring innovative methods to transform waste materials into useful products. The activities not only enhanced their understanding of sustainable living but also encouraged creativity and problem-solving.

The workshop underscored the growing need for environmental education in schools. With increasing concerns about pollution, overflowing landfills, and climate change, it has become essential to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to make environmentally responsible choices. Such initiatives help nurture environmentally conscious citizens who understand their role in protecting natural resources and preserving the planet for future generations.

The event reflected the school’s commitment to holistic education by integrating environmental stewardship into the learning process. Students left the workshop inspired to become agents of change and pledged to incorporate sustainable practices in their homes and communities.
