Technology and AI are now becoming part of everyday learning. For teachers, especially those working with young children, this shift means more than using new tools. It means understanding how technology can support learning in a safe, thoughtful, and age-appropriate way.
With this focus, the Foundational Wing teachers of Apeejay School, Sector 15, Faridabad, along with In-charge Mrs Gunjan Sharma, attended a Google workshop on AI Literacy and Digital Safety conducted by upEducators. The session introduced teachers to practical ways in which artificial intelligence and digital safety practices can be understood and used in early learning spaces.
The workshop came at a time when classrooms are changing steadily. Children are growing up around digital tools, and teachers are expected to guide them with both confidence and caution. This is where such training becomes relevant. It helps educators look at technology not as a replacement for teaching, but as a support system.
The teachers explored AI tools designed for early learning. They also worked with advanced Google Search techniques, which can help in finding more accurate and useful information. Another important part of the workshop was the SIFT Method, which supports careful checking of online information before accepting or sharing it.

Digital safety was also a key area of discussion. For foundational years, the issue topic becomes especially important because young learners need guided exposure to the digital world. Teachers, therefore, play a central role in helping children build safe and responsible online habits from an early age.
The session concluded with three Google certifications. This added a clear learning outcome to the workshop and reflected the teachers’ commitment to upgrading their professional skills.
For the teachers, the workshop was an enriching experience that added to their understanding of 21st-century classrooms. More importantly, it strengthened their ability to bring digital tools into early education with care, purpose, and responsibility.
