Apeejay School, Kharghar students say consistent work strengthened their understanding of subjects

Success in studies rarely comes from extremes. It builds quietly through regular effort, clear understanding, and the ability to stay steady when things get demanding. Over time, this kind of consistency shapes not just results but also how one approaches learning. Meet three students from Apeejay School, Kharghar (academic year 2025-26): Ruhi Sengupta, Ashmita Banerjee, and Arsh Chourasia, who share how working regularly reduced pressure and improved understanding over time.

The topic that Ruhi enjoyed learning the most last year was microorganisms. “The world of microbes fascinates me because they affect our lives without even being visible. Throughout the session, whenever I studied a topic, I made notes. Before exams, I went back to those notes and followed a steady routine each day. I read the textbooks carefully, practised previous years’ questions, and worked through the revisions given by my teachers,” this now Class IX student said.

Whenever something wasn’t clear, she looked it up online first, and if she still had doubts, she asked her teachers the next day. “All my teachers were very helpful and encouraging, and they always supported me in clearing my doubts,” she added.

Ashmita made sure to finish all her work each day, including homework and what was taught in school. “Doing these tasks throughout the year helped me stay prepared as exams approached. Math improved the most. I practised for half an hour, five days a week, and focused on the extra sums done in class along with the exemplar for each chapter,” she shared.

Her teacher supported her a lot in school. “Because I didn’t have any backlog, I never really felt pressure building up. I followed a timetable and made sure I revised each subject twice while staying thorough with the textbooks. As Class IX is more demanding, I know I will need to put in more hours this year and in the years ahead. Discipline and dedication have always helped me, and I believe they will continue to do so,” she added.

The habit that helped Arsh the most this year was revising everything they did in school every week. “Instead of leaving things for the last moment, I kept revising a little each day, which made it much easier to remember.

The subject that improved the most for him was Social Studies. “Earlier, I used to memorise everything, but this time I focused more on understanding the topics. I also made short notes and went through them regularly. To manage time and pressure, I planned my revision carefully. I made daily schedules and decided how many chapters I would cover each day. Since I wasn’t rushing at the end, I felt much less stressed,” the Class IX student shared.

He also took short breaks so she wouldn’t feel exhausted. “Next time, I would begin my revision even earlier and spend more time on the subjects I find difficult. I also want to improve how I frame my answers so I don’t lose marks and can feel more confident,” he said in conclusion.
