A day filled with cultural brilliance and spirit of national pride

Mahatma Gandhi had once said, “Freedom is never dear at any price. It is the breath of life. What would a man not pay for living?” With the spirit of freedom echoing in every corner, Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri, came alive on August 15, 2025 as it celebrated the 79th Independence Day with unmatched patriotic fervour. The Tricolour fluttered proudly against the morning sky, while the entire campus wore hues of saffron, white, and green, creating an atmosphere filled with national pride. 

The celebrations began with the solemn flag hoisting ceremony led by the Principal, Dr Vineet Vasishtha, followed by the resonant chorus of the national anthem sung by parents, students, and staff in unison. This moment of collective pride set the tone for the day’s festivities.

The highlight of the programme was a series of cultural presentations featuring the best entries from the recent inter-house dance competition. Students, dressed in vibrant costumes, portrayed episodes from India’s freedom struggle and showcased the spirit of unity in diversity. Their performances, infused with patriotic songs and graceful choreography, drew thunderous applause from the audience. 

The school also seized the occasion to felicitate its budding sports stars who brought laurels at district-level competitions. Himani (XI), Rudraksh (VIII), and Arnav Sindhu (VIII) bagged Gold medals in cycling, while Srishti (VII), Shreshtha (VII), and Dhruv Phogat (VIII) won Gold in triathlon. Young achievers Kadambari and Suyash (II) shone in Taekwondo with Silver and Gold medals, while Dakshita (IX) and Siyanshi (IX) were lauded for their shooting skills. In a heartwarming gesture, their parents were also honoured for their unwavering support.

The celebrations further included stirring speeches, thought-provoking skits, and soulful musical performances by students, each act reflecting a deep sense of patriotism and responsibility towards the nation.

In his address, the Principal reminded the gathering of the significance of Independence Day and the pivotal role of the youth in building a progressive India. He also distributed prizes to winners of various competitions, motivating students to strive for excellence in all spheres.

their families added a special touch. Let this day remind us of our duties as responsible citizens and inspire us to work toward a brighter, united India,” shared Dr Vasishtha. 

The day concluded withcamaraderie among students, parents, and staff, leaving everyone with a renewed sense of pride and commitment to the nation.
