The Centre for Knowledge Sovereignty (CKS), an Indian Public Policy Think Tank, and Esri India Technologies Pvt Ltd have announced their collaboration to launch the ‘Master Mentors Geo-Enabling Indian Scholars’ (MMGEIS) programme. The initiative is part of a broader effort to position India as a global hub for geospatial technology, skilling, and innovation.

The MMGEIS programme is designed for students ranging from class VIII to undergraduate levels, aiming to identify and nurture talent across the country through a comprehensive selection process. Students selected for the programme will benefit from vision talks, interactions with master-mentors, one-on-one mentoring by experts, and engaging interactive activities.

One of the key objectives highlighted is the programme’s commitment to fostering a robust intellectual property (IP) framework. This strategic emphasis aims to contribute to the generation of more patents from India, reinforcing the country’s position as a global geospatial innovation hub.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) formalising this collaboration was signed by Vinit Goenka, Secretary,  the Centre for Knowledge Sovereignty, and Agendra Kumar, Managing Director, Esri India. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Kiran Kumar, former Chairman, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
