On the morning of July 12, 2025, Apeejay’s IB School, Apeejay School International, Panchsheel Park, welcomed parents and students with warmth and enthusiasm for its much-anticipated PYP-Parent Orientation. Held at the AV Room, the event marked the beginning of the new academic session 2025–26 and set the tone for a vibrant, learner-centric year ahead.
The room was abuzz with over 50 parents and students, some returning, others new. Gathered to understand the school’s ethos, curriculum, and offerings. A special presentation showcased an inspiring journey of student achievements, teacher accolades, and the exciting plans for the upcoming year.

Ms Neha Sharma, Vice-principal of the school, addressed the remarkable academic success, including 100% diploma attainment and 40% of DP students scoring 40+ points. She welcomed parents warmly and shared developments made over the summer, like new learning spaces like a science lab, junior art studio, and a media room, alongside student-driven clubs and leadership initiatives. She emphasised the school’s commitment to holistic development through diverse extracurricular programs and international collaborations like Korean and French language partnerships. An open-door policy, parent-partner programs, and upcoming Olympiad mentoring were also introduced, reinforcing the school’s vision to empower every learner with global exposure, agency, and excellence.
Ms Sameeksha Bhatt, PYP Coordinator, commenced the session with a heartfelt welcome, expressing joy at having the students back on campus after the summer break. She began by highlighting the school’s stellar IBDP results, celebrating a fourth consecutive year of 100% diploma awards. Notably, 40% of students scored above 40 points, with an impressive cohort average of 36 IB points, a testament to the school’s academic rigour and mentorship.
She emphasised the importance of holistic development, underlining how the IB framework goes beyond academic content to focus on essential 21st-century skills like critical thinking, inquiry, and adaptability in an increasingly tech-driven world, focusing on what to expect from PYP.

Taking the stage next was Ms Monika Vasudev, Assistant PYP Coordinator, who delved into the core philosophy of the Primary Years Programme. She elaborated on the central role of inquiry-based learning in shaping independent thinkers and compassionate leaders. Her session covered the structure of school subjects, Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills, and the culminating PYP exhibition, supported by experiences such as visual arts displays and field trips.
The orientation also shed light on the school’s dynamic co-curricular offerings. For Nursery and Reception students, the curriculum integrates physical education, swimming, visual arts, IT, dance, and music. From PYP 1 onwards, students choose from Band 1 and Band 2 options, which include performing arts, robotics, and yoga, among others. A highlight this year is the introduction of student-led clubs — an initiative encouraging leadership, innovation, and collaboration.

Additionally, parents were informed about the usage of the Toddle app, an integrated platform for seamless parent-teacher communication. They demonstrated how parents can track student progress, receive announcements, access learning portfolios, and share feedback. This initiative aims to create a transparent and collaborative environment, streamlining school updates and fostering a stronger home-school connection.
Parents were reminded of their pivotal role in the school’s ecosystem, from adhering to academic calendars and transport guidelines to supporting student routines like timely breakfasts, proper uniforms, and completed homework.

As the session came to an end, all the form tutors, along with co-form and segment tutors, were introduced to parents and students. This allowed everyone to connect on a more personal level, enhancing trust and familiarity. Teachers also kept the floor open for any one-to-one interactions, encouraging parents to discuss specific concerns or seek clarifications directly.
The session left parents both informed and inspired, ready to partner with the school in shaping a fulfilling academic journey for their children.
