In a remarkable initiative to blend classroom learning with real-world exposure, the students of Apeejay School, Model Town, Jalandhar, embarked on an educational tour to the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Complex, Jalandhar, under the Chetna Project – Educational Exposure Visit. The visit was designed to enhance civic awareness and provide students with a firsthand experience of how administrative services function at the district level.
The session was presided over by Mr Rohit Jindal (PCS), Jalandhar, and Mr. Navdeep Singh, Nodal Officer, Office of the Chief Minister, Punjab, who warmly welcomed the students and shared valuable insights into the importance of efficient governance and public service delivery.

During the visit, the students had the unique opportunity to explore multiple departments within the DC office, including the CRC – Character Role Club (English), CRC – Sena Clerk Section, Treasury Office, Sewa Kendra, and the Community Police Service Centre – Saanjh Kendra. Each department offered a glimpse into its daily functioning, showcasing how various administrative tasks — from record-keeping and financial management to citizen grievance redressal— are seamlessly integrated to serve the public.
Through live demonstrations and interactive explanations by the officials, students gained valuable knowledge about digital governance systems, public documentation processes, and the importance of transparency in administration. The experience not only demystified government procedures but also highlighted the role of technology in improving citizen-centric services.

The tour concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where the students actively participated by asking thoughtful questions about civic policies, law enforcement, and administrative ethics. Their enthusiasm and curiosity reflected a growing awareness of their role as informed and responsible citizens.
The visit served as a powerful learning experience, reinforcing classroom lessons on civics and governance with practical exposure. It inspired the young learners to appreciate the significance of accountability, public service, and the rule of law in maintaining a well-functioning democracy.

Such exposure visits, as part of the Chetna Project, truly embody experiential learning, nurturing leadership, awareness, and empathy among students while helping them connect education with meaningful, real-world impact.
