In an effort to create a digitally aware and responsible young generation, Apeejay School, Noida, organised an online awareness session titled Cyber Jagrit Bharat: Building a Safe Digital Future. The session was conducted by the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Department and presided over by Ms Laxmi Singh, Police Commissioner, addressed students on the growing importance of cyber safety in today’s technology-driven world.
The session aimed to educate students about cyber hygiene, responsible online behaviour, and preventive measures against digital threats. Designed especially for school and college students, it focused on empowering them with practical knowledge to safeguard themselves in the digital space.

Through engaging discussions and real-life case studies, the officers from Gautam Buddh Nagar Police shed light on the evolving landscape of cyber frauds and online scams. They explained how small lapses like clicking on suspicious links, sharing personal details, or using weak passwords, can lead to major digital risks. The resource persons encouraged students to follow simple yet crucial safety habits, such as two-factor authentication, creating strong passwords, and verifying information sources before sharing or acting online.
Students were also guided on how to report cybercrimes through the official portal and helpline, ensuring timely action and community vigilance. The interactive nature of the session allowed participants to ask questions, clarify doubts, and understand how legal frameworks protect citizens from online offences.

Ms Singh, in her address, emphasised that “awareness is the first line of defence in the digital world.” She urged students to be responsible digital citizens, staying alert and mindful of their online footprint. Students learnt that maintaining cyber safety begins with self-discipline — from recognising phishing attempts and securing personal data to fostering ethical online behaviour.
The event reinforced that every click carries responsibility, and by being vigilant and informed, young citizens can collectively build a cyber-secure and empowered India. The session concluded with a strong message: digital literacy is not just about using technology but using it wisely and securely.
