Once Upon a Toy Room: Punjab school sparks reading magic

In a delightful celebration of family engagement and the enchantment of books, Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld in Jalandhar, Punjab recently hosted a heartwarming and fun story session that left children and their beloved mothers brimming with joy! The school’s charming toy room was magically transformed into a wonderland of imagination, setting the stage for an unforgettable event.

The young stars of Pre-Nursery and Nursery, accompanied by their mothers, gathered with excitement to participate in this unique initiative. The mission was simple yet powerful: To kindle the flame of love for reading in the little ones’ hearts and forge unbreakable bonds between families. The toy room was nothing short of a fairytale setting. Decorated with enchanting hues and adorned with the dreams of every child, it was the perfect space for young minds to thrive. As the children and their mothers settled in, the air buzzed with anticipation.

An Adventure of Imagination and Connection

The story session kicked off with all the fanfare of a grand tale. The enchanting words flowed from the storyteller’s lips, weaving a tapestry of wonder and excitement that captivated the audience. As the stories came to life, little ones hung onto every word, their eyes wide with awe, and their hearts filled with curiosity.

But this was no ordinary story hour! This was an interactive extravaganza where the children were encouraged to share their boundless enthusiasm. The young stars were bursting with questions and eager to share their thoughts. And who could blame them? The world of books had opened its doors wide, beckoning them to explore, imagine, and dream.

According to Ms Garima Mahajan, mother of a Nursery student, Veronica, “Such events are necessary to keep children engaged. My otherwise shy daughter thoroughly enjoyed herself there. She was quite excited to attend the storytelling session.” 

A Symphony of Love and Laughter

In this magical atmosphere, mothers played an integral role as they lovingly encouraged their little ones’ inquisitive minds. They embraced the opportunity to witness firsthand the wonder in their children’s eyes and share their joy in a world of pure imagination.

The toy room reverberated with laughter, love, and understanding as mothers and kids formed an unbreakable bond. Together, they stepped into worlds unknown and experienced countless adventures — all through the power of storytelling. As per Ms Saloni Chopra, mother of a Pre-nursery student, Diven, “I spent quite an enjoyable time with my son in the school. After returning home from the event, he seemed to be mesmerised with the themes, sounds and characters of the stories told. I am happy to see that he loved every bit of it.” The child is a new admission in the school. Ms Chopra is now looking forward to attending more events at the school.

A Resounding Success: Uniting Hearts and Minds

As the day drew to a close, the positive energy in the room was palpable. Principal Model Town, Mr Malkiat Singh and Headmistress Pre-Primary Mrs Nidhi Ghai, along with the teachers, beamed with pride as they witnessed the fruits of their labour. This heartwarming event had achieved its noble goal: to unite families, foster a love for reading, and create lasting memories.

Gratitude filled the air as both students and mothers expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the school for orchestrating such a magical experience. Commending the efforts of the school, Ms Samreen Kaur, mother of a Nursery student, Yashmeen, says, “I think it’s a good idea to make students learn by action rather than just words. My daughter had an enriching time and I would like to applaud the effort of the educators in putting up a great show.”
