Once again, Apeejay college clinches champions trophy at inter-zonal youth festival

Apeejay College of Fine Arts won the first position in 15 out of 28 competitions at the youth festival

After winning the C-zone youth festival, Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA) has raised the bar by winning the inter-zonal level as well, emerging as the overall champion of the youth festival organised by Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU).

The college secured a total of 133 points to attain the first position. Khalsa College, Amritsar, and Layalpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, clinched the second and third positions respectively.

ACFA also won individual trophies for specific competitions including theatre, fine arts, music, and folk performances.

The closing ceremony of the three-day inter-zonal youth festival was conducted under the patronage of Dr Anish Dua, dean, Student Welfare and director, Youth Festival, GNDU. The chief guests for the occasion were vice-chancellor Dr Jaspal Singh Sandhu and Dr AP Singh, dean, Shri Guru Ram Das Health Sciences College.

Dr Neerja Dhingra, principal, ACFA, expressed her joy for Apeejay’s extraordinary achievement and congratulated the participants for putting in their best effort and hard work. She specially acknowledged the industriousness of Dr Amita Mishra, dean, youth festival, ACFA, and Dr Arush Mishra, cultural advisor, ACFA.

“For the last 21 years, ACFA has been creating history and owning the trophy as a result of its dedication, sincerity, and hard work,” Dr Dhingra said. This time, ACFA participated in 28 competitions and bagged the first position in 15, second position in 11, and third position in two competitions.  

Dr Dua added, “A total of 96 colleges participated in the Zonal Youth Festival, out of which 33 colleges reached Inter-Zonal Youth Festival and Apeejay College of Fine Arts left everyone behind and established its dominance and won the overall championship trophy in both Zonal and Inter Zonal Youth Festival.”
