New-age startups, Entrepreneurship Development policies to make Punjab a leading global hub

Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) and Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of Apeejay Institute of Management and Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC), in Jalandhar in association with StartUp Punjab has recently organised an awareness Session on “Entrepreneurship Opportunities”.

Dr. Sarabjit Singh, Principal Director, Central Institute of Hand Tools, Jalandhar and Mr. Sanjeev Juneja, President, Jalandhar Auto Parts Manufacturers Association were the speaker for the special session.

The guests of honour were Mr. Salil Kaplash, Coordinator, StartUp Punjab and Mr. Pradeep Kumar, Deputy Director, Training Department, CIHT, Jalandhar.

The special programme was organised under StartUp Punjab Scheme to further share with young students about the scope and opportunities in the entrepreneurial world  and how government is assisting in promoting Entrepreneurship, the policies and providing benefits to the budding entrepreneurs. government.

The vision of the Startup and Entrepreneurship Development Policy is to develop the State of Punjab as a leading global hub for startups and innovation in order to accelerate the economic growth within the State and to offer large scale entrepreneurial and job opportunities in Punjab.

Tav Prasad, a 1st year MBA student who won first prize in the Competition organised by Startup Punjab, said, “It is a great opportunity to be a part of such session.”

Another student, Kartik Sharma of MBA – first year added, “Such sessions on Entrepreneurship are going to help us a lot in recognising the hidden potentials in us.”

The Coordinators for the event were Ms. Arushi Sidana, Convener of IIC & EDC and Ms. Rajinder Kaur Co-Cordinator of EDC.

Lastly, Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director at AIMETC, motivated the young students and appreciated the efforts of Team IIC & EDC for conducting such events in association with StartUpPunjab.
