Apeejay Stya University (ASU) organised the Illuminate Entrepreneurship Workshop 2026 through INOVEXA, the University’s Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell), under the National Entrepreneurship Challenge (NEC) 2026 organised by E-Cell, IIT Bombay. Held at the University campus, the workshop aimed to foster entrepreneurial thinking among students and equip aspiring entrepreneurs with practical knowledge of business planning, strategy development and the process of transforming ideas into viable ventures.

The workshop featured Mr. Deb Gooha, CGO – Core Banking & Digital Payments, MENA, as the resource person. Drawing on his professional experience in the banking and digital payments sector, he shared insights into the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and the considerations involved in establishing and scaling a business.

The sessions focused on identifying business opportunities, developing effective strategies, understanding market requirements and creating a structured roadmap for growth. Mr. Gooha emphasised that successful entrepreneurship extends beyond generating innovative ideas; it requires careful planning, informed decision-making, effective execution and the ability to adapt to changing market conditions.

He encouraged students to identify problems that could be addressed through entrepreneurial solutions, assess the feasibility of their business ideas and understand the needs of their target customers. The discussions also highlighted the importance of developing sustainable business models and anticipating the practical challenges associated with launching and expanding a venture.

The interactive sessions provided students with an opportunity to explore how ideas could be translated into actionable business plans. By encouraging a problem-solving approach and strategic thinking, the workshop helped participants appreciate the importance of innovation, market awareness and perseverance in building successful enterprises.

The programme commenced with a welcome and introduction to the Illuminate Entrepreneurship Workshop. Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Vir Singh, Vice Chancellor, ASU, ceremonially welcomed the guest speaker by presenting him with a green planter. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp marked the formal inauguration of the event.

Ms. Anjali Dagar, President of E-Cell, delivered the welcome address, following which the resource person was introduced and the technical sessions began.

The workshop was conducted in two sessions, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The extended programme provided students with an opportunity to engage with entrepreneurial concepts and gain practical perspectives on business development, strategic planning and venture implementation.

At the conclusion of the workshop, Mr. Gooha was felicitated by Prof. Sanjay Ahirwal, Dean, Students’ Welfare; Prof. Hemant Kumar Soni, Head of the School of Engineering and Technology; Dr. Sonam Raheja, Chief Faculty Coordinator of INOVEXA – E-Cell; and Mr. Chaman Kumar, Faculty Coordinator.

Ms. Ritu Dagar, Vice President of E-Cell, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing appreciation to the resource person and everyone who contributed to the programme. The event concluded with the National Anthem and a group photograph.
