For Aanchal, an alumna of Apeejay School, Saket, school was more than a place to learn from textbooks. It was where she discovered the joy of sports, developed her voice and built the foundations that continue to support her professional journey. A student of the school from nursery to Class 12, she graduated in 2005 and went on to pursue engineering, followed by an MBA in marketing and telecom.

Today, Aanchal is an entrepreneur managing multiple businesses. She is also building Love4Pause. Despite her expanding professional commitments, she continues to cherish her association with her alma mater and remains connected with her teachers.

What are some of your fondest memories of your time at the school?

I studied at Apeejay School, Saket, from nursery to Class 12. So my school years were a very beautiful experience. I have many memories from that time, and my association with the school continues even today because I am still connected with my teachers.

One of my most memorable experiences was being part of the school’s basketball team. I played at the national level. Sports were an important part of my school life, and representing the school was something I truly enjoyed.

What did you enjoy most about being a student here?

What I enjoyed most was the opportunity to participate in activities beyond academics. Being part of the basketball team gave me a chance to challenge myself, work with others and experience the spirit of competition.

The school also provided an environment where students could explore different interests rather than limit themselves to textbooks. I remember our then principal was very outspoken and encouraged students to have their own voice. That was an important part of my experience at Apeejay.

How would you describe the teachers who taught you, and how has their contribution helped in your professional journey?

I have a lot of respect for my teachers, and the fact that I am still connected with them says a lot about the relationships I built during my school years.

Teachers play an important role in establishing a student’s foundations. At school, we develop the basics that we carry forward into higher education and our professional lives. I believe my academic foundation was strong, and that has been valuable to me.

The encouragement to express ourselves and participate in different activities also made the school experience meaningful. I appreciate the role my teachers played in creating an environment where students could learn, explore and develop their individual personalities.

Apart from academics, what important lessons did the school teach you?

One of the biggest lessons was that learning does not happen only inside a classroom. Being part of a sports team, competing at different levels and interacting with people teaches you things that are difficult to learn from books alone.

At the same time, I believe that life is a continuous process of learning. When we are children, we do not necessarily know what we want to do when we grow up. We have our own interests and aspirations, and those can change as we gain experience.

School gives you the foundation, but you continue discovering yourself as you move through life. It is important to remain open to exploring new opportunities instead of assuming that your future has to follow one predetermined path.

Where are you working currently, and what is your job role?

I am currently an entrepreneur and run multiple businesses, primarily in digital marketing, which is the field I know best.

One of my businesses focuses on affiliate marketing, a performance-led segment of digital marketing. We have offices across India, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and the United States, and are also working towards establishing an office in Canada.

Alongside this, I am building Love4Pause, a brand focused on developing products for pets. My other business ventures are connected to my digital marketing work.
