Apeejay Svran Global School, Faridabad, celebrates Dussehra with a vibrant blend of cultural performances, devotion and meaningful lessons
Recently, Apeejay Svran Global School, Faridabad, Sector 21 D, organised a special assembly to celebrate Dussehra, one of India’s most significant festivals, which symbolises the eternal victory of good over evil. The assembly brought together students and teachers in a celebration of India’s rich cultural heritage, while highlighting the importance of truth, righteousness, compassion and moral values in everyday life.
The programme commenced with a soulful poem dedicated to Dussehra, setting the tone for a meaningful celebration. This was followed by a short skit that beautifully portrayed the triumph of good over evil and emphasised the importance of standing up for what is right. Through the presentation, students highlighted the timeless relevance of the festival and encouraged everyone to uphold honesty, integrity and righteousness in their lives.
The young learners of the Pre-primary section added colour and enthusiasm to the celebration with a series of captivating performances. A vibrant mini Ramleela brought alive the legendary tale of Lord Ram’s victory over Ravana, introducing the little ones to the enduring values embedded in the Ramayana. Their lively enactment reflected the spirit of the festival and conveyed the message that truth and goodness ultimately prevail.
The celebration continued with a graceful dance performance that showcased the enthusiasm and confidence of the young performers. The students also presented a special segment highlighting the nine forms of Goddess Durga worshipped during Navratri. The presentation offered a glimpse into the spiritual significance of the festival and celebrated the strength, courage and divine feminine energy represented by the goddess.
The assembly concluded on a soulful note with a devotional bhajan, filling the atmosphere with serenity, devotion and spiritual fervour.
The celebration served as a meaningful learning experience, reinforcing the importance of positive thinking, good conduct and ethical choices. It reminded students that the true essence of Dussehra lies not merely in celebrating the victory of Lord Ram over Ravan, but also in overcoming the negative traits within oneself.
