Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA), Jalandhar, organised a capacity-building programme recently to acquaint its faculty with the importance of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and New Education Policy (NEP).

The programme was organised by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). The resource person of the day was Dr Sunit Kaur, HoD, Department of English, ACFA.

Dr Kaur emphasised the role of a motivated faculty in fostering the growth of the institute and taking it to greater heights. She elaborated on how IQAC acted as a ladder to upgrade the status of the educational institute.

The lecture, which turned out to be insightful, was followed by an interactive session.

Addressing the faculty, Dr Neerja Dhingra, principal, ACFA, said, “Our institution is known for the quality education it provides and the expert, well-qualified teachers it has.” She explained why teachers needed to look beyond traditional classroom teaching and work towards upgrading their knowledge. Simultaneously, they need to align modern pedagogy with higher educational bodies like NAAC and UGC, among others.

Dr Dhingra mentioned how ACFA has always been in sync with the rules and regulations laid out by NEP. She concluded her speech by appreciating the efforts of Meera Aggarwal for successfully organising a faculty development programme (FDP).
