Management college holds seminar on new and rewarding digital careers

The seminar was conducted by an illustrious alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management

Apeejay School of Management (ASM) held a seminar on the upcoming digital careers for its students recently. Titled ‘Digital Careers: How Digital Disruption is Impacting Careers’, the session was conducted by Aalekh Tripathi, an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad and sales and marketing professional at Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL).

Tripathi led the Beauty and Personal care division for three years before becoming the marketing lead for Love Beauty and Planet, a D2C brand at HUL. As a mentor and Co-Founder at Digiaccel, he has now embarked on a mission to equip prospects with the skill sets necessary to launch their digital careers.

The interactive session gave future professionals at ASM a great opportunity to gain knowledge and thereby empowered them to accelerate careers in category management, performance marketing, supply chain, analytics, and operations.

There has been a widespread digital revolution across industries in the 21st century. Today, Indians spend a minimum of six-seven hours daily on their phones, majorly on social media platforms. In turn, it has impacted how companies reach out to their target audience to promote brand building. There are majorly four buckets in India — regular purchases, just-in-time, experiential, and research purchases, Tripathi mentioned. These platforms should have category selection, fulfillment and model, product interface, and product value proposition.

The students were introduced to the various new-age roles and opportunities demanded by the top e-commerce companies and how they take business decisions daily. Tripathi also shed light on the route to a digital career for management graduates.

ASM students were able to clarify their doubts at the end of the insightful session.
