Originally from Calcutta, Sneha Chatterjee wanted a good environment for her daughter Aratrika to grow into a confident, well-rounded individual while looking for a school. Now with Aratrika in Class 1, Sneha reflects on that decision, the teachers who’ve shaped her daughter’s journey so far, and how safety and communication have factored into her overall experience.
What factors did you consider before admitting Aratrika to Apeejay?
Since we are from Calcutta, we were specifically searching for a good school in the Noida area. The CBSE board was a priority for us. I got really positive feedback about Apeejay from a friend here whose daughter had studied at the same school. She spoke highly of the infrastructure and the sheer range of extracurricular activities on offer. I always wanted my daughter to have more than just an academic experience—a holistic approach—and that’s what led us to choose Apeejay.
Have those expectations been met?
Yes, absolutely. My daughter has always had an extroverted streak, but she never really had the exposure to speak confidently in front of a large audience before joining Apeejay. When we enrolled her in KG, her class teacher guided her wonderfully.
She used to encourage her to participate in every activity. She even won an inter-school competition last year, which was a fantastic exposure for her at that stage. Now in Class 1, under her current teacher, she continues to take part in many school activities, and her speaking skills and overall approach to studies remain strong.
Do you feel there’s adequate safety, security, and discipline at the school?
Yes, genuinely. My daughter commutes by bus, and in terms of safety, I’ve particularly appreciated how the Principal has addressed the school’s wing structure. The primary and secondary sections are kept clearly separate. That matters a lot to me. Along with the CCTV coverage and the attentive nannies who guide the students, I feel confident that the school takes safety seriously.
Are the teachers approachable, both to students and parents?
Yes. My husband and I, along with other parents we’ve spoken to, were extremely satisfied with the teachers. In the beginning, we were a little apprehensive about how Aratrika would adjust, coming from a Bengali-speaking household, but with the help of teachers, she settled in beautifully.
How has been the progress of your daughter?
Since joining the school, she has involved herself in numerous activities and always ensured she featured among the achievers whenever results came out.
My daughter remains active and engaged in class. She participates enthusiastically in dance performances and various school events. She’s confident about answering questions and speaking up whenever her teacher asks. That level of active participation has been consistent throughout her time at Apeejay, and it’s something we’re genuinely proud to see in her.
