Reinforcing its commitment to experiential learning and industry-oriented education, the Corporate Relations Cell and Marketing Club of Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC), Jalandhar, organised an industrial visit to Aarti International Limited, Ludhiana, for MBA students. The visit provided participants with an opportunity to observe manufacturing operations firsthand and connect classroom concepts with real-world industrial practices.
A major highlight of the visit was witnessing the transformation of raw cotton into finished thread. The experience familiarised students with the different stages of the manufacturing process and offered a practical understanding of how raw materials are converted into finished products through coordinated operations.
During the visit, students gained insights into production planning, process management, machinery and resource utilisation, quality control, and operational efficiency. They also observed how materials move through various stages of processing and how maintaining quality and efficiency contributes to smooth manufacturing operations. The exposure helped them relate concepts from their MBA curriculum to their practical applications in an industrial setting.

The visit also highlighted the relevance of supply chain practices and the coordination required to manage production processes effectively. By observing the manufacturing environment, students could better appreciate the role of planning, resource allocation, and process control in ensuring operational effectiveness. The experience offered a valuable perspective on the practical challenges and considerations involved in managing an industrial organisation.
Commenting on the significance of experiential learning, Dr Rajesh Bagga, Director, AIMETC, said, “From raw cotton to finished thread—a real-world lesson in Production and Operations Management.” His observation highlighted how industrial visits can bring management concepts to life by allowing students to see how theoretical principles are applied in actual business operations.
The students expressed enthusiasm and appreciation for the opportunity, particularly the chance to witness the complete manufacturing journey. The firsthand exposure made concepts related to production planning, material flow, quality management, and operational efficiency more tangible and easier to understand.

The visit was coordinated by faculty members from the School of Management, Mr Gurpreet Singh, Ms Anisha Mahanta, and Mr Rahul Handa, who facilitated the learning experience.
Through such industry-academia initiatives, AIMETC continues to provide students with opportunities to observe professional practices, deepen their understanding of management concepts, and develop industry-relevant perspectives. The visit to Aarti International Limited served as a practical learning experience, reinforcing the importance of connecting academic knowledge with industrial applications to prepare future management professionals for the workplace.
