As part of its Literary Week celebrations, Apeejay School, Tanda Road, Jalandhar, organised an Inter-house Literary Quiz that brought together students in a shared space of learning and competition. The event aimed to deepen students’ engagement with language and literature while encouraging teamwork and confidence.
The quiz was structured through a series of thoughtfully designed rounds. These included Beyond the Literal, Crack the Spell, The Vocabulary Vault, The Poet’s Palette, Grammar Gridlock, and Masters of the Muse. Each round focused on a different aspect of language, ranging from vocabulary and grammar to literary interpretation and creative thinking.
Participants responded with clarity and speed, reflecting a strong foundation in linguistic concepts. Their ability to navigate varied challenges showed not only preparation but also an intuitive understanding of literature.
Drawing from literary traditions
Students engaged with questions inspired by well-known literary figures like William Shakespeare, Rabindranath Tagore, and Robert Frost. This connection to established literary voices added depth to the quiz and encouraged participants to see language as a living, evolving form of expression.
The event also created space for students to connect classroom learning with wider literary traditions, strengthening both knowledge and appreciation.

All participating teams performed with focus and enthusiasm. The quiz maintained a healthy competitive spirit while remaining inclusive and encouraging. It allowed students to learn from one another and build confidence in expressing their ideas.
What this reflects is a broader approach to education where language is not limited to textbooks but explored through interaction and application.
Looking ahead
Events like the Inter-house Literary Quiz highlight the role of co-curricular activities in shaping well-rounded learners. By fostering curiosity and collaboration, such initiatives prepare students to think critically and communicate effectively in academic and real-world contexts.
