Language is an important tool for communication. Indeed! It’s used by each one of us in our everyday existence as a way to connect and pass on data as well as information to each other. However, key communication is best preferred in a listener’s language as it helps in building relationships and understanding the information more accurately. Language helps in expressing and communicating emotions to one another. It helps in connecting people and assists them in communicating thoughts more precisely. In fact, communicating in listeners’ preferred language can help in attentive listening, awareness and making decent connections. Through language, people can show their viewpoint easily and how they think of a particular matter. For the communication to go well, the receiver and sender must know a common language. That helps them to interpret their information correctly and achieve the objective of their communication.
Let’s say, if the sender is fluent in English but the receiver isn’t, then the sender communicating in English may lead to an aimless communication. Hence if the sender wants to accurately deliver a message, he/she must pick a language that the receiver is aware of. Thus, common language eases communication as well as builds the conversation in the right direction while delivering the right information.
Well, language barriers can cause problems where the data that has been passed on can be taken in a totally different manner. Interpretation of the information and that too how it’s intended to be given is very important. Sometimes different languages, where the sender or the receiver are not familiar with the same language, create misunderstandings, leading to failure in delivering the right message.
