Kargil Vijay Diwas assembly inspires patriotism

Students of Apeejay School, Noida, pay heartfelt tribute to Indian soldiers, honouring the legacy of Captain Shashikant Sharma

To instil a deeper understanding of bravery, sacrifice, and national pride, the students of Apeejay School, Noida, were engaged in a meaningful learning experience through a special morning assembly. Organised by Class X  in collaboration with the Interact Club, the event served as a powerful tribute to the indomitable spirit of India’s soldiers, while also fostering values of gratitude, empathy, and responsible citizenship among students.  

The programme began with a respectful welcome address that included a heartfelt tribute to the family of Captain Shashikant Sharma, the honoured guests at the event. His supreme sacrifice and gallantry were acknowledged by the compere, setting a tone of reverence for the day.

A meaningful “Thought for the Day” reflecting the spirit of Kargil Vijay Diwas was shared, followed by the news headlines. The audience was then taken through an insightful presentation on the significance of the day, highlighting the bravery and determination of the Indian soldiers during the 1999 conflict.

The mood turned emotional as Shaurya Singh recited a moving patriotic poem, followed by a group performance of the soulful song Jahan Daal Daal Pe Sone Ki Chidiya, celebrating the richness and pride of the nation. The energy surged with a vibrant group dance, capturing the patriotic fervour with colourful expressions of unity and love for the country.

Charukyeshi Pandey delivered a powerful talk titled Our Martyrs-Our Heroes, reminding the audience of the unflinching devotion of soldiers who gave their lives for India’s sovereignty.

A particularly poignant moment came with a video presentation on the life of Captain Shashikant Sharma. It offered an intimate glimpse into the journey of a braveheart whose legacy continues to inspire.

The most touching segment of the assembly was an address by Captain Sharma’s sister-in-law, who shared personal memories and anecdotes. Her words resonated deeply with the audience, leaving a lasting emotional impact.

The programme concluded with an encouraging address by the school Principal, who lauded the students’ efforts and emphasised the importance of remembering our martyrs. She urged all students to carry forward their legacy by becoming responsible, patriotic citizens of the nation.

Overall, the event stood as a testament to the valour of the Armed Forces and left every attendee with a renewed sense of national pride and a deeper understanding of sacrifice.
