Iqbal Ahmed Siddiqui, an alumnus of Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, from the 92’ batch, wanted his children Saad, Rifa, and Ayra to have a strong educational foundation and good exposure. While Saad completed his schooling from Apeejay this year, Rifa and Ayra are in classes XI and I respectively at the same school. The father, who works as a director in his family construction business Horizon Infra, tells us more about how Apeejay continues to maintain high education standards.

Edited excerpts:

What made you choose Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, for your kids?

Back when I was studying in Apeejay, I had a wonderful time and continue to cherish memories. Not just me, many other children in our family studied in the same school. Today, they are all very well established and achieving new milestones in their respective fields.

My experience at Apeejay was one of the reasons I wanted my kids to study there too. I love the school in every aspect, from education to co-curricular activities.

Tell us about your experience of visiting the school during the admission process.

I met the primary incharge, who knew me very well and explained everything about the curriculum. I met the school principal at the time of Rifa’s admission and had a very pleasant interaction with him. I was highly impressed to see the developments in the school infrastructure.

As an alumnus yourself, can you tell us how education at Apeejay has changed over the years?

With evolving pedagogies, Apeejay has continuously made an effort to keep its curriculum and teaching-learning methods relevant to the time to impact students’ lives positively. This includes extracurricular activities which is also something Apeejay focuses on for the all-round development of a child. The school has a big auditorium where students can showcase their skills, a playground, a swimming pool, and so on for students to learn new skills.

How well have your kids been performing in academics and co-curricular activities?

All three of my children are meritorious. Saad cracked JEE Advanced 2023 this year. He scored very good marks in class X and XII Board exams also. Similarly, Rifa did very well in her class X Board exam and opted for non-medical Science stream. Ayra is only in class I but she is already showing signs of evolved critical thinking. She actively participates in all events.

Disha Roy Choudhury is a Principal Correspondent at Apeejay Newsroom. She has worked as a journalist at different media organisations. She is also passionate about music and has participated in reality shows.
