Akanksha Dutt is an aluma of Apeejay School of Management (ASM) who had pursued her Master in Business Administration (MBA) as a part of the 2017-19 batch. In a brief interview, the finance and accounting expert advises students to keep a consistent learning graph. Edited excerpts:
Please tell us about your current work profile?
I have been working with Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL (), a global commercial real estate services company, for the past three years as a finance analyst. My key responsibility here is managing the OTC (Order to Cash) billing, checking the number of clients and contracts, processing the invoices and keeping a track on credit note data and QR code generation.
What was the inspiration behind choosing management as your work area?
I graduated with a BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) degree. Then I went on to do my MBA. During my BBA, accounts and finance were my favorite subjects. So, I chose to do my MBA to get more knowledge and details in this field.
Please tell us about your best memories from the campus days?
MBA is a course in which you have to study a lot and work on a number of projects. In our first year, we had to study and the second year consisted of training. After that, we joined our respective offices. I was an extremely focused student back then. I always had an eye on my academic progress as well as my professional aim.
What are your next projects?
My next target is to further climb the career ladder and experience more growth in the line of management and accounting. I wish to gain more in-depth knowledge about finance.
What life lessons would you give to a current ASM student?
If the students focus on their studies and work efficiently, then they can get a good placement and should be able to progress well in their career.
