To raise awareness about environmental issues and promote sustainability, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park celebrated World Earth Day by organising Green Friday for its primary department. The aim of this event was to motivate students to adopt eco-friendly habits to reduce their carbon footprint.

The event began with a session where students were informed about the various problems affecting the Earth, such as pollution, global warming, and deforestation. The students were taught about the importance of preserving the planet and given ideas on how to contribute towards a cleaner and greener environment.

To help students connect with nature and appreciate the planet’s beauty, an enviro-drive was organised around the school premises. Students enjoyed the walk and were thrilled to feel the fresh cool breeze, which reminded them of the importance of preserving the planet’s natural resources.

Further, the celebration included various engaging activities to promote environmental awareness among the students. The tiny tots of class 2 participated in a plasticine activity, where they were encouraged to create models using clay to highlight the importance of reducing plastic waste.

At the same time, class 3 students participated in a slogan writing activity, in which the young minds came up with creative and catchy slogans with a message to promote environmental conservation.

Similarly, students of class 4 and 5 participated in a poster making competition, where they used their creativity to design posters that showcased the beauty of nature and the importance of preserving it.

In addition, students were encouraged to take action in their daily lives to reduce waste and conserve resources. They were given tips on how to reduce their carbon footprint by turning off lights when not in use, recycling, and composting

The students enjoyed their day, and the activities helped them understand the importance of caring for the environment. They learned that small actions can make a big difference in protecting the planet and that everyone has a role to play in preserving it for future generations.
