The students of Apeejay School, Model Town, Jalandhar, recently embarked on an exciting educational trip to Manali, an experience that beautifully combined learning, adventure, cultural exploration, and recreation. Set against the backdrop of the majestic Himalayas, the trip offered students an opportunity to step beyond the classroom and engage with nature, history, and local traditions firsthand.

One of the highlights of the journey was the visit to the breathtaking Rohtang Pass, where students were mesmerised by snow-clad peaks and panoramic mountain views. The scenic beauty of Solang Valley provided another memorable experience, allowing students to witness the region’s natural splendour and vibrant tourist culture. The group also explored the historic Hadimba Temple and Ghatotkach Temple, gaining insights into the rich mythology and architectural heritage associated with these revered sites.

The itinerary included a visit to Old Manali, where students experienced the charm of the town’s traditional culture, quaint streets, and picturesque surroundings. They also enjoyed serene riverside moments, appreciating the tranquillity and beauty of the Beas River. A drive through the remarkable Atal Tunnel, one of India’s most significant engineering achievements, offered students a glimpse into modern infrastructure and its role in enhancing connectivity in mountainous regions.

Adding a unique educational dimension to the trip was a visit to a local shawl factory. Here, students learned about the intricate process of shawl weaving and the craftsmanship that has been preserved across generations in Himachal Pradesh. The visit helped them develop a deeper appreciation for India’s rich handicraft traditions and the importance of supporting local artisans.

Beyond sightseeing and learning, the excursion provided numerous opportunities for fun and bonding. Students participated in group activities, shared experiences with their peers, and created lasting friendships. An energetic DJ session added to the excitement, with students enthusiastically dancing and celebrating together, making the evenings as memorable as the days.

Educational trips play a vital role in a student’s holistic development by fostering independence, confidence, teamwork, and adaptability. The excursion served as a perfect example of experiential learning, enabling students to connect classroom knowledge with real-world experiences. As they returned home with countless memories and valuable lessons, the trip left an enduring impression on every participant, making it truly an unforgettable journey to the hills.
