Her fascination with colour schemes and interactive elements led her to  pursue her field of passion. She now seamlessly binds visual aspects to give you a visually appealing digital experience. Meet Sakshi Waghmare from the 2017 batch of Apeejay School, Kharghar. In a candid interview, she shares how she landed in the world of UX/UI.

What are you pursuing now and what’s your ambition?
I am currently working as a UX/UI Designer for an agency based in Denmark. My role involves creating user-friendly digital experiences, blending creativity with functionality. My ambition is to refine my skills further and contribute to innovative design solutions globally.

How were the teachers at Apeejay School?
The teachers here weren’t just educators but they were characters in the best way possible. They knew when we needed a push and when to let us figure things out on our own. I have received relentless encouragement and love from my teachers which has shaped me in ways that I didn’t realise then but I do now.

Share your favourite memories from school.
Some of my best memories from school have to be from the weeks leading up to big events like Annual Day and Open Day. Those months were pure chaos in the best way – lots of free periods, rehearsals and the shared excitement (and occasional panic) with friends. Being part of the dance group every year is made. It is even more special. There was something about those practices, the practice show runs, and the thrill of performing that made it all unforgettable!

Which extracurricular activities did you enjoy at school?
Art and dance were more than just extracurriculars for me. They were my space to express, create, and truly enjoy school beyond academics. Being deeply involved in these clubs shaped a huge part of who I am. It also led to one of my proudest moments being elected as the Cultural Activities Captain of my house during junior, middle, and high school. Getting to lead, organise, and bring creative ideas to life with my peers was an experience I’ll always cherish.
