Colours break the monotony of life. They are integral because they add charm and creativity to our personalities. This year, Holi was a welcome delight after a long hiatus due to Covid-19 imposed restrictions. Many spent time with their friends and family and were set to groove in full swing.

The colourful Hindu festival was also celebrated in schools. Students spread love, spring and the victory of good over evil. To commemorate the occasion, Apeejay Svran Global School in Faridabad Sector 21-D, organised Holi celebrations in the school premises. Students came dressed in attractive traditional Indian outfits and participated enthusiastically in ‘Phoolon ki Holi.’

Further, the programme educated students about the significance of the festival of colours and how it renders joy and exuberance in our lives. Thereafter, students of class 3 recited a poem on Holi. Their performance simply added cheerfulness amongst the audience.

After this, students played holi with flowers. The day concluded by the distribution of sweets. On the occasion, the Principal, Ms Priti Wason, shared an important message with the students to burn all negativity in their lives and brim it with positivity and happiness. She said, “Holi heralds the arrival of spring after winter. It signifies the victory of good over evil and is celebrated as a day of spreading happiness and love.”

Students of Apeejay International School, Greater Noida too celebrated the auspicious day. They expressed love, joy and happiness with colours in the school. Classes nursery to 3 celebrated ‘Braj ki Holi’ through cultural programmes inclusive of dance drama based on Vridavan’s prominent ‘Holi Khelan’, where colours were replaced by bright fresh flower petals. They understood about the legendary tale of Lord Krishna and Goddess Radha who smeared colours on each other, thus giving birth to Braj ki Holi. This was followed by a ‘Dandiya’ performance.

The day was filled with joyful festivities. The principal of the school, Dr Sarita Pande addressed the students by sharing her words of wisdom. She encouraged them to play a safe Holi!
